Yeah, I'm stupid—serendipitously stupid.
Oh, life's rigged? Okay then, just be so stupid that you come out on top; that's easy enough. People talk about horseshoe theory regarding political radicalization, but I think we've all seen that to be the case with intelligence too: like you've seen the midwit wojak meme where the dumb guy and the elusive smart monk guy have the same take on something—that's where I'm at with it. Some of us may have met that person who seems to figure shit out by the skin of their teeth; such miscalculated risks end up averaging out, probabilities be damned. It's a beautiful trope, but real life tends to be more complicated, of course. Everyone has a unique disposition to fortune, and while much of it is determined by circumstances and other things beyond one's locus of control, a certain attitude behooves this kind of stubbornly mistaken individual. It takes a willingness to—in a simultaneous and contradictory fashion—give God the middle finger and let It go. It's almost like an inverted poverty of Spirit, but with the understanding that the same right hand that saves us is the one that kills us.
So blessed is the release of death without any of the bequeathed joys—rest, peace, piss, whatever. To die just to find out you're still alive—what a trip that would be, huh? It's coming for (You) if that hasn't been on your radar yet. What, you don't think Cosmic Judgment exists? Have fun in Hell then, friend. I get stressed out about the surveillance state narratives, and a major reason why is because I see that there's a diametrically opposed set of forces duking it out: the surveillance of man, and the more elusive surveillance of the heavens, whatever that looks like. It makes me think of The White Shadow, but without all of that CIA bullshit. No, it's way cooler to think of it as corrupted Freemasons, left-handed path idiots—the great political dangers found in getting isekai'd to Animeland for a while. My eyes were open and I was somewhere else; how the fuck do you even begin to start explaining that kind of stupid shit?
I am being technically surveilled and divinely watched, psychiatric conditions notwithstanding. The cracks in the Panopticon are getting thinner, though this shit's always going to be hackable—such is the design of man-made structures, physical or metaphysical. It's not that the strategy is to not play the game, but instead to bluff it; all in, seven-deuce offsuit on the river—go fuck yourself. You really think I wouldn't be so bold as to be so stupid? The gifts of my rhetoric fooled you, didn't it? I know I have nothing to lose because there is nothing to be lost; the sands on the beach don't pay any mind to the tides. Such is the case with the abstract affairs of mortal men: if a thread on your shorts tears off, you don't throw the whole pair away. I don't mind being a slightly above-grade bovine; there's some prime rib in there, anyway.
The overblown metaphors and imagery were a bit much there, sorry. I just have fun with it when the pistons are firing, but it's better to hit the iron while it's—well, tepid at least. Cogito is nice as a low-commitment spitball, but I need to hock a fat loogie soon enough; there's been a lot of those this week, quite literally. I've been dealing with a not-so-bad flu, and the cough has been a gross little sucker. It's not a smoker's cough yet! As much as I love my nicotine, I really do need to get the balls to quit again. Remember when I had that nice little streak there? It was nice while it lasted, but I do get so much micro-joy from it; though I do need to remind myself that life doesn't always have to be so investigative about it. Thankfully, my people are compassionate with that little vice of mine, but it would be nice to feel a bit more well-adjusted. Some day. Maybe.
